Even where the law does not oblige a company to do so, it can be to the company’s advantage to set up and run with vigour a Social & Ethics Committee. The principles that drive such a Committee should be made to flow throughout the entire organisation. In good times it can be a “Value Driver” and in “Bad Times” it can be used to manage risk and crisis and in all instances it will extract real benefit for the Company.
